The current research aimed at clarifying how to develop the teaching performance of the Arabic language teachers in the secondary schools in light of strategic teaching approach. It depended on the Analytical Descriptive Method to achieve its objectives as the researcher made a list of six teaching performance standards in light of the basics of strategic teaching, including; planning for strategic teaching, taking into account the basic teaching variables (learner characteristics, content, goals, and educational strategies). Considering the stages of strategic teaching (preparation for learning - presentation and introduction of content - application - integration), explicit teaching of strategies and organizational patterns, the attempt to achieve independent learning for students, evaluation and follow-up the results of students’ learning. In addition, a list of performance indicators of strategic teaching was prepared, consisting (51) measurable indicators, in light of which an observation card was applied to monitor the teaching performance of the Arabic language teachers in Hail secondary schools. The very fact is that the research reached the following results: 1) The level of teaching performance of teachers of Arabic language reflected a low level in all educational performance standards. 2) There are no statistically significant differences among the mean scores of teachers of Arabic language in the secondary schools due to the variables of study qualification (BAMA) and years of experience in the performance observation list in the light of performance indicators of strategic teaching. 3) Developing the Teaching Performance of the Arabic Language Teachers in Secondary Schools in light of the Standards and Indicators of Strategic Teaching requires; training Arabic language teachers on applying the strategic teaching techniques, implying it in teacher preparation programs, and preparing an integrative guide that clarify how to use strategic teaching in planning, carrying out and assessing the lessons.
