This study aimed at exploring the effect of a cognitive training program on reducing university violence among Yarmouk University students. The study sample consisted of (65) students at Yarmouk University, who were convicted with penalties by investigating committees, due to university violence during three years (2011/2012/2013). The sample was distributed randomly into two groups: an experimental group (33 students), who were exposed to the training program, and a control group (32 students). To achieve the objectives of this study, a cognitive training program to reduce students violence was developed. The program consisted of (15) training sessions, each was about (50) minutes . A university violence scale was also developed and validity-reliability measures were conducted. The study showed statistical differences according to the group in all domains and the total scores of university violence in favor of the experimental group. There were no statistical differences in the university violence total scores and the domain scores between the post tests and delayed test indicating the continuity of the effect of the training program.
