هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى الكشف عن الحاجات الإرشادية لطلبة الجامعات الخاصة العمانية. وتكونت عينة الدراسة من 410 طلاب وطالبات، اختيروا بالطريقة العشوائية من الجامعات العمانية الخاصة. ولتحقيق هدف الدراسة، إستخدمت استبانة تكونت من 35 فقرة، تشتمل على الحاجات الإرشادية الأكاديمية، والاجتماعية، والنفسية، والمهنية. وقد تأكد الباحثان من صدق الأداة وثباتها بالطرق العلمية المناسبة. وخلصت الدراسة إلى النتائج الآتية: 1) جاءت الحاجات الإرشادية الأكاديمية في المقدمة، تلتها على التوالي الحاجات النفسية، فالمهنية، فالاجتماعية. 2) عدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في تقديرات أفراد عينة الدراسة للحاجات الإرشادية، في كل مجال من مجالات الأداة، تعزى إلى متغيري جنس الطالب، ومعدله الأكاديمي. بالإضافة إلى عدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في تقديرات أفراد عينة الدراسة للحاجات الإرشادية، في كل من مجالات الحاجات الأكاديمية، والاجتماعية، والمهنية، تعزى إلى متغير الجامعة التي ينتمي إليها الطالب. كما تبين عدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في تقديرات أفراد عينة الدراسة للحاجات الإرشادية، في كل من مجالات الحاجات الأكاديمية، والنفسية، والمهنية تبعًا لأثر متغير السنة الدراسية التي ينتمي إليها الطالب. 3) وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في تقديرات أفراد عينة الدراسة للحاجات الإرشادية، في مجال الحاجات الإرشادية النفسية، فقد جاء تقدير الحاجات النفسية لدى طلبة جامعة ظفار أعلى منه لدى طلبة جامعتي نزوى وصحار. فضلًا عن وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في تقديرات أفراد عينة الدراسة للحاجات الإرشادية، في مجال الحاجات الاجتماعية تبعًا لأثر متغير السنة الدراسية التي ينتمي إليها الطالب، فقد جاء تقدير الحاجات الاجتماعية لدى طلبة السنة الثانية أعلى منه لدى طلبة السنة الثالثة. This study aimed to investigate the counseling needs of students in private universities. The sample of the study, which consisted of 410 male and female students, was randomly chosen from all private universities in the Sultanate of Oman. To achieve the main aim of the study, a 35-item questionnaire was used to identify students’ academic, social, psychological, and professional needs. Reliability and validity of the instrument were checked using proper procedures. The findings of the study revealed the following: 1) Students’ counseling needs were high. Academic needs ranked first, then psychological, professional, and, finally, social. 2) No significant differences in students’ responses to counseling needs were due to their gender, and academic grade in all of the questionnaire domains. Moreover, no significant differences in the participants’ responses in the domains of the academic, social, and professional needs were due to university variable. It was also found that no significant differences in their responses in the domains of the academic, psychological, and professional needs were due to academic year variable. 3) There were significant differences in the participants' responses in the domain of psychological needs due to university variable. The assessment of the psychological needs of Thufar University students was more than that of their peers in the Nazwah and Suhar University. In addition, it was found that there were significant differences in the students’ responses in the domain of psychological needs due to academic year variable. This shows that the assessment of social needs of the second year students was higher than that of their peers in the third year. In the light of these findings, a set of relevant recommendations were introduced. (Published abstract)
