The present study aimed to explore the effect of service learning on the improvement of the Jordanian basic 9th graders’ creative thinking skills in the geography course. To achieve the objectives of the study, a creative thinking test was prepared and applied on the population that included (153) male and female students divided into two groups; the experimental (78 male and female students) and the control (75 male and female students) ones. The unit entitled as the contemporary environmental problems in the chosen geography course was taught via the service learning method for the experimental group while the control one was taught via the usual method. The findings showed that there were statistically indicative differences between the means of the students’ grades in all the creative thinking skills in the post-application test attributed to the group variable which were in favor the experimental group. There were also statistically indicative differences between the means of the students’ grades in all the fields of the post-application test attributed to the gender variable which were in favor the male students’ grades. Plus, there were statistically indicative differences between the means of the students’ grades in all the fields of the post-application test attributed to the interaction between group and the gender variables which are in favor of the male students in the experimental group.
