هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى التعرف على مستوى انتشار ظاهرة التلكؤ الأكاديمي ومستوى مهارات القراءة الفاعلة السائدة والعلاقة بينهما لدى طلبة الجامعات الفلسطينية بمحافظة طولكرم. لهذا الغرض اِستعمل مقياسان؛ أحدهما لقياس التلكؤ الأكاديمي، والآخر لقياس مهارات القراءة الفاعلة لدى طلبة الجامعة. وتكونت عينة الدراسة من (423) طالباً وطالبة، تم اختيارهم بطريقة عشوائية طبقية وفق متغيري الجنس والجامعة بنسبة (5%) من المجتمع الأصلي للدراسة البالغ (8454) طالباً وطالبة. وقد كشفت النتائج عن أن الطلبة الجامعيين الفلسطينيين يعانون من انتشار ظاهرة التلكؤ الأكاديمي لديهم، وأنهم يستخدمون مهارات القراءة الفاعلة المختلفة بفعالية في القيام بالمهمات التعليمية. كما أظهرت النتائج وجود علاقة ارتباطية دالة إحصائياً عكسية وسالبة بين التلكؤ الأكاديمي وأبعاده المختلفة وبين مهارات القراءة الفاعلة وأبعادها المختلفة. ومن جهة أخرى بينت النتائج عدم وجود فروق دالة إحصائياً في مستوى التلكؤ الأكاديمي الكلي وأبعاده الفرعية ومستوى مهارات القراءة الفاعلة وأبعادها الفرعية تبعاً لمتغيري الجنس والتخصص العلمي. The study aimed to identify the prevalence of the phenomenon of academic procrastination and the level of prevailing effective reading skills and the relationship between them among Palestinian university students in Tulkarm Governorate. For this purpose two scales were used; one of them to measure academic procrastination, and the other to measure effective reading skills among university students The study sample consisted of (423) male and female students, who were chosen in a stratified random according to the sex and university variables at a rate of (5%) of the original study population of (8454) male and female students. The results revealed that Palestinian university students suffer from the prevalence of academic procrastination, and that they use different effective reading skills effectively in carrying out educational tasks. Also, results showed that there is a negative statistically significant correlation between academic procrastination and its different dimensions and between effective reading skills and their different dimensions. On the other hand, the results showed that there were no statistically significant differences in the level of total academic procrastination and its sub-dimensions and the level of effective reading skills and its sub-dimensions according to the variables of gender and scientific specialization.
