The main aim of this study is to evaluate letter grading System used in Jordan University through determining the difficulties faced the instructors and students who used that system in which investigation for the independent variables such as college, the rank of instructor, and the level of the program To attain these purposes, a tow simple random samples (139, 1619) were chosen respectively from: faculty staff (929), student graduated (35835) at the university of Jordan. To determine the difficulties the instructors and students are faced, two investigation lists are developed; the researcher measured their validity, consistency and the items effectiveness The main results of this study showed that the main difficulty of using lettering system is related to misunderstanding the system and its implementation, after that the difficulties arise from the structure of the system itself Analysis of variance at the level of significance (α ≤ 0.05)showed: A consensus estimate of difficulties that classified as problems encountered instructors at various ranks & colleges. A consensus estimate of (26),(17) difficulties that classified as problems encountered students respectively for the independent variables: level of the program, college. There is significant differences between the difficulties that classified as problems estimates by students and instructors for students, And it can be concluded that students are suffering from problems with letter grading system more than instructors at the University of Jordan.
