This study aimed at identifying burnout among special education teachers in Muscat governorate, the study investigated possible difference in burnout according to participant’s gender, social status, experience and the type of students. The sample consisted of 72 teachers. A scale of burnout based on Shrink (1996) was used. Reliability and validity were satisfactory. The result of the study indicated that no significant difference on burnout related to gender of the teachers, social status, and their experience. On the other hand, the result demonstrated a significantly burnout related to the type of students, the result indicated that the teachers who taught the students with hearing impairment had burned out at the level of energy, the relations with the students' and at the total score, compared with teachers who’s taught the students with intellectuals disabled.
