The current study aims to explore the development of ego identity and the differences between identity status according to demographic variables (gender, cadmic specialization of The students. the sample consist of 350 students divided in (170) male, and (180) female in humanities and scientific faculties at Balqa Applied University for 2018-2019. First semester. To achieve the aims of study the researchers used the Objective Measure of Ego Identity Status (ADIMES, etc. 1979) after conduct the reliability and validity for the scale. The result revealed that the rank of identity statues takes developmental trajectory among all the students at the same order (sequent). The study also revealed there are statistically significant differences between male and female in all ranks of identity in favor of females, and shows statistically significant differences in the levels of achievement, moratorium in favor of females and there are statistically significant differences. In the ranks of achievement and moratorium in favor of students in the humanitarian facilities. Finding shows no significant differences in rank of identity at a level of foreclosure and diffusion and no significant differences in achievement, moratorium in favor of male in humanitarian faculties, and no significant difference in foreclosure, diffusion in humanitarian and scientific faculties for male students and find significant differences in achievement, foreclosure, diffusion in favor of females in humanitarian facilities and no differences in flour identity between females. Finally, the study recommended to increase the student awareness of identity through programs and counseling interventions. (Published abstract)
