هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى تقصي أثر استخدام القصص الشعبية على اتجاه طالبات الصف السادس نحو كلّ من العلوم وتوظيف تلك القصص في تدريس العلوم. تكونت عينة الدراسة من 57 طالبة بإحدى مدارس محافظة الداخلية بسلطنة عمان، وقد تم تقسيمهن إلى مجموعتين تجريبية 30 طالبة تم تدريسهن باستخدام مدخل القصص الشعبية، وضابطة 27 طالبة تم تدريسهن بالطريقة السائدة في الفصل الدراسي من العام الدراسي 2016/2017م، ولتحقيق أهداف الدراسة قام الباحثون بإعداد دليل للمعلم باستخدام القصص الشعبية، استهدف إحدى وحدات كتاب العلوم العامة للصف السادس الأساسي كما تم إعداد مقياسين، الأول عن اتجاه الطالبات نحو مادة العلوم العامة والثاني عن اتجاههن نحو توظيف القصص الشعبية في حصص العلوم. وتم التحقق من صدقهما من خلال عرضهما على مجموعة من المحكمين، كما تم التحقق من ثباتهما، حيث بلغ ثبات مقياس اتجاه الطالبات نحو مادة العلوم 0.87 وثبات مقياس اتجاه الطالبات نحو توظيف القصص الشعبية 0.96. وأشارت نتائج الدراسة إلى وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين المتوسطات الحسابية في اتجاه الطالبات نحو العلوم، واتجاهاتهن نحو توظيف القصص الشعبية في تدريس العلوم لصالح المجموعة التجريبية، ونتيجة لذلك فقد خلصت الدراسة إلى مجموعة من التوصيات في ضوء ما أسفرت عنه من نتائج. This study aimed to investigate the effect of teaching science via Omani folk tales on the 6th grade female students' attitude toward science subject and using Folk Tales in teaching science. The study sample consisted of 57 female 6th grade students. They were divided in two groups: an experimental group N=30, which was taught science by Omani Folk Tales, and a control group N= 27, which was taught science by the conventional learning method. The study was implemented in the academic year 2016/ 2017. To achieve the study aims, teacher guide was developed to help science teacher of the experimental group to teach via Omani Folk Tales. In addition, student attitude toward science subject 26 items and applying Omani Folk Tales scale in science periods 29 items were developed and implemented to both groups. The validity of the two instruments was checked through panel of judges and their reliability was calculated using internal consistency methods using coefficient AlphaCronbach. It was found that the reliability of attitude toward science subject is 0.87 and for attitude towards cultural heritage scale is 0.96. The findings of the study revealed that there is a statistical difference in students' attitude toward science subject and toward using Omani Folk Tales in teaching science in favor of experimental group. Consequently, the study proposed several recommendations and suggestion to develop teaching science using Folk tales. (Published abstract)
