The study aimed at identifying the requirements for attaining autonomy for secondary schools in Abha from the point of view of school principals and developing a proposed strategy for implementing the autonomy entrance for secondary schools in Abha city as one of the principles of applying governance. The study used the descriptive approach. The study sample consisted of (65) directors of secondary schools in Abha city. The study also relied on questionnaire as a tool. The study found that one of the most important requirements for the independence of school administration in secondary schools in Abha city is that And to authorize the management of the school the necessary powers to grant bonuses for outstanding performance, and the requirements of the independence of professional development to be planning the activities of professional development of teachers in partnership between the school and colleges of education, and self-financing requirements that the teacher The authority to identify and control areas of expenditure and disbursements. At the end of the study, the proposed strategy for the implementation of the entrance to secondary school autonomy in Abha was developed as one of the principles of applying governance.
