The study aimed at identifying the fact of academic counseling on the scientific theses plans from the perspective of the male and female postgraduate students in Faculty of Education in King Saud University. The researcher answered the questions of study by following the descriptive survey methodology, and using the questionnaire tool. The population of the study consisted of all the male and female postgraduate students in Faculty of Education in King Saud University with the doctoral and master's thesis track with total of (861). The sample of the study consisted of (465) male and female students, chosen by the simple stratified random method. The study concluded many results, including: The study sample agrees on the concept of academic guidance in the dissertations’ plans, received generally in this study, including: (Academic advisor urges the students to respect the intellectual property of others), (A student informs the guide for the development of the research plan). The study sample agree on the issues related to the student's academic advisor and administrative problems, received generally in this study, including: (Total rejection of the plan could result in the student's frustration), (Lack of clarity in the student's academic advisor tasks(, (The difficulty of choosing scientific plan title). There are differences on every dimension of the axis of the academic guidance problems of the dissertations’ plans (problems related to the student, problems related to academic advisor, administrative problems) also on the total score of the axis depending on the gender (male, female) for the benefit of students. There are differences on every dimension in the axis of the academic guidance problems of the dissertations’ plans (problems related to the student, problems related to academic advisor, administrative problems) also on the total score of the axis depending on the different variable of academic level (PhD, Masters) in favor of doctoral students, especially (the problems related to the student).
