This research aims to investigate the effect of using Moodle system on the cognitive achievement and reading skills’ performance in reading 2 course of the students of English department at education faculty - Sana’a University. To achieve this aim, the researcher prepared the research's tools; an achievement test to measure the cognitive side and an observation card to measure the skills’ performance side. The sample of research consisted of 50 students of the first year, English department at education faculty - Sana’a university. They were being divided into two groups; first, the control group was 25 students, they were taught the course by using the traditional method in the class, besides showing the multiple media of the course. Second, the experimental group was 25 students; they were taught the e-course by using Moodle system online. The research tools were then applied to both groups; control group, and the experimental group. Data were collected, analyzed and processed statistically and results were obtained. In light of these results, the researcher recommended using of the Moodle system for the development of achievement and the cognitive aspects and practical and performance skills of reading 2 course of students in the first level - the department of English - in the faculty of education. Also the activation of the role of e-courses in the Yemen universities and the use of services that provided by the internet. (Published Abstract)
