هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى تعرّف الخصائص السيكومترية لمقياس نوعية الحياة لدى تلاميذ المرحلة الإعدادية في مملكة البحرين، وتحديد الفروق بين الجنسين في مكوِّنات نوعية الحياة. أُجريت هذه الدراسة على عينةٍ قوامها 500 تلميذ وتلميذة في المرحلة الإعدادية بمملكة البحرين، تتراوح أعمارهم الزمنية بين 13-15 عاماً، حيث استجابوا لفقرات مقياس كيومنز، النسخة العربية الخاصة بالأطفال، والتي تم تطبيقها على أفراد العينة داخل الصفوف الدراسية. وأشارت الدراسة إلى أن المقياس يتمتع بمعامل ثبات مرتفع، حيث تراوحت قيم معامل ثبات ألفا بين (0.40-0.88)، في حين أن قيم معامل ثبات الاستقرار بطريقة إعادة الاختبار تراوحت بين (0.30-0.70)، كما أن المقياس يتمتع ببنيةٍ عامليةٍ ظهرت من خلال القيم العالية لتشبعات الفقرات على العوامل، ونتج عنها عامل عام، وعامل خاص بنوعيّة الحياة الذاتية، وعامل ثالث يتعلّق بنوعيّة الحياة الموضوعية. كما أشارت النتائج إلى وجود فروقٍ جوهريةٍ بين الجنسين، وقد تم مناقشة وتفسير النتائج في ضوء الأدب السابق، واقتراح البحوث المستقبلية ذات العلاقة. The study aimed at examining the quality of life among middle school students in Kingdom of Bahrain and to reveal the sex-related differences in student responses. A total sample of 500 (250 male, 250 female), 13-15-year-old students was chosen to participate in the study and to respond to the Arabic version of the (COM.QOLS-vs-5th ed, Cummins, 1997), that was prepared by the author. Results of study showed that the test-retest reliability estimates ranged from (0.30- 0.70) while alpha reliability estimates ranged from (0.40-0.88), indicating an acceptable to high levels of stability. Factor analysis of the student scores yielded three factors with high loadings, which were labeled as: “General”, “Subjective quality of life”, and “Objective quality of life”. Significant sex-related differences were also observed on the dimension of quality of life. Based on these findings, the author suggested that more research should be done in this direction.
