In the twenty-first century, skills approach has become a theme in circulation in the world of education, knowing that the construction of the curriculum starts through the question “why do we teach?” It is however necessary to introduce transversal skills approach which is also in circulation (they are also known as “horizontal competencies”). The problem arises when we realize that the cognitive theory in the field of education covers all the skills needed to address the “transversal skills approach”. Do we need a renewal in educational practices or do we only have to apply all components of cognitive theory? (Author's abstract)

Au niveau du XXIe siècle, l’Approche par Compétences est devenue un thème en circulation dans le monde de l'éducation, sachant que la construction du curriculum s’entreprend via le questionnement « pourquoi enseignons – nous ?» Cependant, il est nécessaire d’introduire l'approche par compétences transversales qui sont également en circulation (reconnues parfois par « compétences horizontales»). La problématique se pose lorsque nous nous rendons compte que la théorie cognitive, dans le domaine de l'éducation, couvre toutes les compétences nécessaires pour aborder l’approche par compétences transversales. Avons-nous besoin d’un renouvellement dans la pratique éducative ou bien avons-nous à nous contenter d’appliquer tous les éléments constitutifs de la théorie cognitive? (Résumé de l'auteur)
