هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى التعرف على اتجاهات الشباب نحو تعاطي المخدرات في سلطنة عمان، حيث بحثت هذه الدراسة في واقع انتشار ظاهرة المخدرات في محافظة مسقط واتجاهات الشباب حول أسباب ودوافع المتعاطين للتعاطي ومدى ثقتهم بالجهات المختصة بمكافحة المخدرات. وقد اشتملت العينة العشوائية للدراسة على مجموعات مختلفة من فئات المجتمع العماني. ولتحقيق أهداف الدراسة تم استخدام المنهج الوصفي، كما تم الاستفادة من دراسة الطويسي وآخرون (2012)، بعد أن تم تعديلها بما يتناسب مع البيئة العمانية، إضافة إلى استخدام برنامج الرزمة الإحصائية SPSS للإجابة عن أسئلة الدراسة. وقد توصلت النتائج إلى أن الحشيش هو الأكثر انتشاراً بين المتعاطين، إضافة إلى ازدياد أعداد المدخنين بين الشباب العماني حيث بلغت النسبة لدى أفراد عينة الدراسة 29.6%، وأن أغلبهم من فئة طلبة المدارس والجامعات والباحثون عن عمل. كما أجمع غالبية أفراد العينة على وجود مشكلة كبيرة لتعاطي المخدرات على الرغم من القيود القانونية والاجتماعية التي تفرضها البيئة العمانية. وكما إضافة الدراسة إلى أن احد أهم الأسباب التي تؤدي للانحراف هم أصدقاء السوء وهو ما يتوفر بشكل واضح في المؤسسات التعلمية (المدارس والجامعات) وعليه يتطلب تركيز الضوء على المؤسسات التعلمية للوقاية من هذه الظاهرة. وإضافة إلى الإشادة العامة بكفاءة جهاز شرطة عمان السلطانية والأجهزة الأمنية في مكافحة المخدرات. This study has aimed at finding out the fact of spreading drugs in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman, and young people directions about the reasons and motivations for taking drugs and their trusting in the authorities that are responsible for preventing drugs. The informal study has included different classes of Omani society and achieves the targets of the study, the descriptive syllabus has been used and also has benefited from al Towasy study and others after being modified to cope with the Omani environment, in addition to using AL Piazema program SPSS to answer the study questions. The study has proved that Hasheesh is widely spreading among addicts, besides, the rapid increase in the numbers of smokers among young Omani men. The percentage of smokers according the study is 29.6%. Most of them are from schools and universities students and unemployed men .Most of the participants in the study confirmed the great restrictions and laws that are applied by the Omani environment regarding drugs. The study also added that the most important reason that leads to addiction are bad friends who are easily available in educational organization ( schools, universities), so we must focus on educational organizations to avoid this problem. Finally, we can’t forget to thank the policemen in the royal Omani police for their great efforts to struggle against taking drugs and prevent it from spreading among young Omani people.
