The main aim of current research is analyzing The Contemporary trends of educational research in mathematics education and learning through sample of journal 10 international journal related to mathematics education during 2006 - 2010, and then mapping a research for research in mathematics education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. To achieve this goal, the literature and research and studies related to research current has been deductive, the sample of this research included 50 research have been published in 10 of journals, internationally classified and associated with the deployment of specialized research in mathematics education over the years 2006-2010. After analyzing the content of the sample, the main results of this research is including set out six key areas of research in mathematics, as follows: strategies for teaching mathematics, mathematical reasoning and its components, then the scientific content, then development professional, followed by the field of mathematical processes, and finally the development of school mathematics curriculum. Based on what has been reached from the results, a set of recommendations and proposals include the areas and priorities for research in mathematics education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, provided that the characteristics of the society, philosophy and beliefs, needs and problems, and has provided a set of recommendations and proposals in this regard, including: directing researchers to the map research in mathematics education, which emphasizes the need to focus on applied research in the field of mathematics education with a focus on some areas at the local level is the most important: teaching math, mathematical sense, education of mathematics and mathematical thinking.
