The aim of this research is to build a proposed program based on augmented reality technology in social studies and measure its impact on developing some twenty-first century skills among primary school students. The research sample: The research sample consisted of two classes’ students in grade six of primary school, one representing the experimental group and the other representing the control group. The application of a situational test for some twenty-first century skills in social studies on the students of the two groups. The research results: There is a statistically significant difference at the level (0.05) between the mean scores of the students of the experimental and control groups in the post-application of the attitudes test for the skills of the twenty-first century, which are: (clear communication - cooperation with others - flexibility and adaptation - initiative and self-direction - understanding of multiple cultures - productivity and accountability - Leadership and responsibility) in favor of the experimental group, in addition to a statistically significant difference at the level (0.05) between the average scores of the experimental group students in the pre and post applications to test attitudes in favor of the post application, and this is due to the use of the proposed program based on augmented reality technology in teaching the two chosen units. Research recommendations: It is necessary to pay attention to the use of augmented reality technology in teaching social studies, as it is a modern field of technology, as its use leads to improving teaching and learning processes, and developing twenty-first century skills during teaching of social studies.
