This study aimed to know the impact of teaching biology using Kagan's play strategy on academic achievement and retention, To achieve this, the study was applied to an available sample of students from ninth graders of the Green Mountain Elementary School for Boys, in the first semester 2022 / 2023 in Mafraq Directorate, The sample was assigned randomly into two groups: an experimental group consisting of (34) students who were taught by Kagan's playing strategy, while control group consisting of ( 34 ) subjects was taught by the conventional method. The experiment lasted for (6) weeks. An achievement test in biology was developed, its validity and reliability were verified, it was applied to the experimental and control groups before starting the experiment, immediately after its completion and three weeks after the end of the experiment. The results of the study showed the effectiveness of teaching by Kagan's playing strategy in scientific achievement in biology and its retention compared to the conventional method.
