This study aimed to reveal the level of proficiency of the students of the Department of Arabic Language in the skills of creative written expression in public universities. Al-Balqa'a - Ajloun Branch) were chosen by stratified sampling method. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher used the descriptive analytical method, and prepared an essay test to identify the level of students' mastery of creative written expression skills, and its validity and reliability were confirmed by the correct scientific methods. The results of the study showed that there were statistically significant differences (α = 0.05) between the level of proficiency of the students of the Arabic Language Department in the skills of creative written expression in public universities and the hypothetical mean, as the value reached (8.150) and the statistical significance reached (0.000), which is low and below the acceptable level. There were no statistically significant differences (α = 0.05) due to the effect of gender and academic level. In light of the results, the researcher recommends conducting similar studies at different educational stages to evaluate creative written expression. Addressing the weaknesses of university students in mastering the skills of creative written expression and working to solve them using appropriate scientific methods. (Author’s abstract)
