آليات الحد من الآثار السلبية لوسائل الإعلام الجديدة في نشر التطرف الفكري بين طلاب الخدمة الاجتماعية من منظور اجتماعي

The current study aimed to identify the mechanisms of reducing the negative effects of modern media in spreading intellectual extremism among social work students from a social perspective. The study made use of the comprehensive social survey method for (7 & 8) level students due to its suitability for the nature of study. The study population were the (7 & 8) level students, Department of Sociology and Social Work, Faculty of Social Sciences, Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University in Riyadh. The study was administered to 120 students during the first semester of the academic year 1437/1438 A.H., and the researcher made use of a questionnaire as an instrument for collecting the study target data. The results of the study revealed that the most used modern media among youth were WhatsApp, YouTube, Face Book, Satellite Channels, Instagram, Twitter, My Space, Snapchat and Google Maps. It was also revealed that there is a strong agreement about the features of thought extremism among youth and the role of the new media in spreading intellectual extremism among youth. Finally, there is a strong agreement concerning the role of new media in spreading intellectual extremism among youth. (Published abstract)
