This study aims to explain the relation between self-esteem and the project of formation in vocational training. The data were collected by means of the Coopersmith Self-Esteem Inventory (CSEI), and a questionnaire measuring the project of formation, undertaken with a population of 270 students engaged in vocational training in INSFP Es Senia, Oran. The statistical analyses allowed us to identify significance rate of relation between genaral self esteem and the project of formation in vocational training, especially between familial self-esteem, also between academic self-esteem. This article discusses the role of self-esteem in the educational pathways of an individual, and shows that self-conceptions of students are mainly related to the acquisition of a pattern of success, those who do not have this pattern, are unable to conceive conceptions of success that can protect against failure. Indeed, it is stipulated that high self-esteem would work as a 'social vaccine' that it would be useful to inoculate individuals and the society to fight against school failure, a story of relationship between success and rational discourse, failure and speech of resignation.
