The aim of the study was to reveal the inclusion level of upper basic stage national and civic textbooks for contemporary problems in Jordan. The analytical design was used in the study as a content analysis checklist was developed. Validity and reliability for the instrument were obtained. The results of the study revealed that the total inclusion level for all problems in 8th grade textbook was (108), while refuge ranked last. The results of the study showed that the total frequency of social problems in 9th and 10th grades textbooks were (41, 87%), respectively. The problem of terrorism ranked first (frequency=27, 65.85%) for 9th grade textbook and totaled (37, 42.53%) for the 10th grade textbook. As for the least social problems, it was found that technology addiction and social media ranked last. The study concluded with some recommendations including the need for educators to develop national and civic education textbooks with high inclusion level of refuge, technology addiction and social media problems to raise students’ awareness about them to help them overcome these problems.
