This study aimed at identifying the trends and characteristics of master’s theses in the field of learning disabilities at King Saud University, and if there was a statistical significance correlation between the gender of the researcher, his academic discipline, or the period in which the research took place, and the trends and characteristics of these theses. To achieve these objectives, the researcher has followed the content analysis method, and applied a designed form on (47) master’s theses in the field of learning disabilities at King Saud University. The researcher has reached number of results which indicated that most common issues are those related to the students, special education teachers, and administration and supervision issues. (78.7%) of the theses were aiming at diagnosing the reality only. Where (72.4%) of the theses focused on elementary school. Targeted sample category was mostly special education teachers whereas other categories were less focused on. Most theses followed the descriptive method, and utilized the questionnaire as a sole research tool which was designed by the researcher. (91.5%) of the theses used descriptive and deductive statistical methods. Results showed statistically significant differences at level (0.01) for the purpose of the research that is attributed to academic discipline. (Published abstract)
