تحليل الصّور المتضمنة في كتب اللغة العربيّة للصفوف الأربعة الأولى في ضوء الثقافة الأردنية

The study aimed to identify the nature of pictures included in the first four grades Arabic textbooks in light of Jordanian culture, and to examine the differences in the nature of pictures according to grade level (First, second, third, fourth). The study used the analytical descriptive design to achieve the aims of the study. The instrument of the study was developed which was a checklist containing three indicators (picture content, picture presentation, picture structure). Validity and reliability of the checklist were obtained. The results of the study showed that the nature of the pictures included in the first four grades in light of Jordanian culture was high. There were no statistically differences between the total mean scores of the nature of pictures included in the Arabic textbooks for the first four grades in light of Jordanian culture due to grade level. As for the individual indicators it was found that there are differences in the means scores in picture content and picture structure indicators due to grade level, in favor of second grade. In light of the results the study recommends to include more pictures related to Jordanian culture in Arabic textbooks for the first four basic grades. (Author’s abstract)
