The current study is entitled: "A Proposed Perspective for School-Based Management in Girls' Schools in Riyadh City", and it aimed to introduce a proposed conception in order to apply self-management in girls' schools of public education in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This study also aimed to achieve the following specific goals: 1) to be acquainted with the current situation of school management in girls intermediate & secondary schools in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia. 2) Defining the concept of school-based management (SBM). 3) Showing the reasons for applying self-management in girls’ schools in Riyadh city from the study societys' point of views. 4) Defining the requirements of applying (SBM) in girls schools in Riyadh city from the study societys' points of view. 5) Introducing proposed perspective for self-management application fields in the public education schools in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia. To achieve the objectives of this study, the researcher has used the analytical descriptive method through distributing a questionnaire for showing the study population opinions in order to collect and analyze the field data about their opinions. The study population consisted of 102 administrative supervisors and all the principals of intermediate and secondary public girls’ schools in Riyadh city 291 principals. The questionnaire included two parts, the first one included nine items that focused on the justifications for applying self-management in girls' schools in Riyadh city, while the second part has dealt with the requirements of applying self-management in schools which included sixty-three 63 items assigned for two aspects, the first one is applying the self-management, followed by ten sub-items for each group of elements. The second aspect which is concerned with self-management of finance is followed by two items; each one consists of a group of elements. The study has reached many conclusions, of which the most important are: 1) the most important justification for applying self-management is to make decisions related to school affairs without referring to education authorities in all matters. 2) The second most important justification for applying self-management is to provide rapid and flexible payments for buying all school's requirements without any restrains that they may delay the work progress. 3) Agreement of the most study population on strengthening the belonging and devotion to school, as the most important requirement of applying self-management. This allegiance would be achieved by participating of specialists in educational and cultural process in taking educative decisions and their commitments towards school affairs management. 4) One of the most important justifications for applying self-management at schools is to pay attention to school buildings and their furnishings. 5) One of the most important justifications for applying self-management at schools is to develop the school staff competence. Based on the theoretical framework and the conclusions, a proposed perspectivewas designed for applying the (SBM) in girls’ public schools in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia. (Author’s abstract)
