This research aims at perceiving the utilization of teaching staff members in Sudanese universities to the internet as a scientific research tool. As well as investigating the most important hindrances of its utilization, learn about the most significant proposals to bypass these hindrances, disclose their tendencies towards the usage of the World Wide Web. The study sample is formed of the teaching staff of the Universities of Khartoum and Al-Zaeem Al- Azhari for the collegiate year 2012/2013, who counted 438 members from the 10 selected colleges. The researcher used the descriptive method, and the questionnaire as a main tool for data collection, in addition to interviews in narrow range. The number of questionnaires valid for statistical analysis reached 320, and by a proportion of 70% of the study samples. In order to treat the statistical information, the researcher used the package of Statistic Program of Social Sciences (SPSS), and reached the following results: Most teaching staffs at Sudanese universities use the World Wide Web in scientific researches, whereas the rate of users reached 75% of the study sample the most important method they use to obtain data and information is the email. The rate of email users reached 84.2% from the study sample. There are positive trends by teaching staffs of Sudanese universities towards the utilization of the World Wide Web “internet” in scientific researches. There are no statistical significant differences in the percentage of internet usage in scientific researches, due to scientific hierarchy variable, and years of experiences. There arc differences of statistical indication between females and males that refer to the variable of kind in favor of males at incorporeal indicative 0.001, and differences due to specialization in favor of applied science teachers. The most significant hindrances of the members utilization arc represented in the increase of financial burdens consequence of internet participation, the difficulties of university correlation with the internet. The teaching staff member succeeded in accessing most sites that provide data, after paying the participation fees. The most important proposals to activate and develop the usage of the World Wide Web “internet” in Sudanese universities, from their point of view, are represented in studying English terms that assist in the utilization of internet, providing internet centers of high capacities at Sudanese universities. Based on above results, the researcher preached numerous recommendations and proposals, notably as such: Conclude systematic courses for teaching staff members at Sudanese universities in English language to bypass the language barrier during their dealing and using of internet. Reduction of participation cost in internet service for educational institutes in general, and for teaching staff members in particular. Assisting teaching staff members in participating in digital libraries, magazines, and circulars through tolerating financial costs to universities, connect them to local area net and with international universities. Designing and establishing electronic sites for each member, and uploading them with whatever relates to him, administratively or personally. The researcher recommends carrying out the following studies: 1) Executing experimental study on the impact of hypothetical community in scientific research, and the trends of leaching staff members at Sudanese universities towards it. 2) Executing similar study to perceive the situation of internet utilization as a tool in scientific research by students of graduate studies at Sudanese universities.
