This research aims to study and analyze the photos, illustrations and colors that used the Arabic text-book named (Alhadiga) which is designed for the second year/ primary level, in order to portray its quality and importance as educational aids and to identify its shortcomings and drawbacks. Two methodological approaches were applied. The first was a content analysis approach to analyze the photos and illustrations used in the (Alhadiga) Arabic text-book so as to appraise their advantages and to point out their shortcomings. The second one is a survey research technique targeted to a random sample of 82 primary school teacher responsible for teaching the junior classes to collate the required data to answer the stated questions of the study. The major findings of the study, despite the belief of the targeted population in the importance of the photos and illustrations as invaluable teaching aids particularly in the text-books of the primary level, but the photos and illustrations used in the (Alhadiga) Arabic text-book are so poor and ill-used to fulfill the aims and objectives they used for. Also the results of the study exhibited that most of the used photos and illustrations are not simple and unattractive and ambiguous. This is couple with the bad lay out of the book and its low quality production as a printed matter. (Published abstract)
