استهدف البحث تعرف واقع تحقيق الجامعة لأبعاد الاحتراف الأكاديمي في ضوء مدخل الجدارة المهنية، من وجهة نظر أعضاء هيئة التدريس بجامعة بنها، وهي: التمكين المعرفي، والتميز البحثي، والريادة المجتمعية، وتقويم الأداء الأكاديمي، وذلك من خلال استبانة موجهة لأعضاء هيئة التدريس بجامعة بنها، طبقت على عينة بلغ قوامها 255 عضو هيئة تدريس، وتوصل البحث إلى ضعف تحقيق الجامعة لبعدي الريادة الاجتماعية، وتقويم الأداء الأكاديمي، في حين جاء واقع تحقيق بعدي التمكين المعرفي، والتميز البحثي بدرجة متوسطة؛ وذلك طبقا لآراء أفراد العينة، لينتهي البحث بتقديم رؤية مقترحة لتحقيق الاحتراف الأكاديمي لأعضاء هيئة التدريس في ضوء مدخل الجدارة المهنية. Universities striving to achieve excellence in their performance and wishing to enhance survival in the context of a competitive work environment, must pay attention to the academic professionalism of academic human resources as a professional process with specific dimensions that moves the university professor from a traditional state of performance to a more distinguished and professional state, and this is what the professional competency approach requires. It enables faculty members to achieve sustainable professional growth, which contributes to empowering them with knowledge and achieving excellence in the research system, and orientation towards society and its problems, with continuous evaluation of academic performance, Based on this, the current research aims to identify the reality of the university’s achievement of the dimensions of academic professionalism in the light of the professional competency approach from the point of view of the faculty members at Benha University, which is cognitive empowerment, research excellence, social leadership, and academic performance evaluation, through a questionnaire directed to the faculty members of Benha University. On a sample of 255 faculty members, the research found the university’s weak achievement of the dimensions of social leadership and academic performance evaluation, while the reality of achieving the dimensions of cognitive empowerment and research excellence came to a medium degree according to the opinions of the sample members.
