يهدف البحث إلى التعرف عن دور التخطيط الاستراتيجي في تحديد الاحتياجات التدريبية لتنمية مهارات مديري المدارس الثانوية العامة من وجهة نظرهم فيما يتعلق (صياغة الرؤية والرسالة وتحديد الأهداف - التحليل البيئي - اختيار الاستراتيجيات - صياغة الخطة التنفيذية - المتابعة والتقويم والتطوير). استخدم البحث المنهج الوصفي والاستبيان كأداة لجمع المعلومات والبيانات. وتوصل البحث إلى مجموعة من النتائج، أبرزها الاحتياجات التدريبية لمديري المدارس الثانوية العامة وكانت النتائج عالية، ثم جاء المجال الأول: صياغة الرؤية والرسالة وتحديد الأهداف في المرتبة الأولى بين مجالات البحث، ثم جاء مجال التحليل البيئي في المرتبة الثانية بين مجالات البحث، ثم جاء مجال اختيار الاستراتيجيات في المرتبة الثالثة بين مجالات البحث، ثم جاء مجال صياغة الخطة التنفيذية في المرتبة قبل الأخيرة، ثم جاء مجال المتابعة والتقويم والتطوير في المرتبة الأخيرة. The research aims to identify the role of strategic planning in identifying training needs to develop the skills of public secondary school principals from their point of view with regard to (formulation of vision and mission and setting goals- environmental analysis- selection of strategies- formulation of the executive plan- follow-up, evaluation and development). The research used the descriptive method and the questionnaire as a tool for collecting information and data. The research reached a set of results, most notably the training needs of public secondary school principals, and the results were high. Then came the first field: formulating the vision and mission and setting goals in the first place among the research fields, then the field of environmental analysis in the second place among the fields of research, then came the field of selection Strategies ranked third among the fields of research, then the field of formulating the executive plan came in the penultimate rank, then the field of follow-up, evaluation and development came in the last rank.
