هدفت الدراسة إلى التعرف على مستوى تضمين موضوعات الكيمياء الخضراء في محتوى كتب العلوم بالمرحلة المتوسطة في المملكة العربية السعودية. أعد الباحث قائمة بموضوعات الكيمياء الخضراء التي ينبغي تضمينها في محتوى كتب العلوم بالمرحلة المتوسطة، واستخدم المنهج الوصفي المعتمد على أسلوب تحليل المحتوى؛ وتكون مجتمع وعينة الدراسة من جميع كتب العلوم المقررة على طلاب المرحلة المتوسطة في المملكة العربية السعودية للعام الدراسي 1422ه وعددها (6) كتب بواقع كتاب لكل فصل دراسي، وتم استخدام أداة تتمثل في بطاقة تحليل محتوى كتب العلوم بالاعتماد على قائمة موضوعات الكيمياء الخضراء المعدة من قبل الباحث، وتم التأكد من صدقها وثباتها، واعتمد الباحث الموضوع أو الفكرة وحدة للتحليل. أظهرت نتائج الدراسة أن تضمين موضوعات الكيمياء الخضراء في كتب العلوم بالمرحلة المتوسطة في المملكة كان بمستوى متدن، ولا يوجد أي عنوان رئيسي أو فرعي في الكتب تضمن موضوعات مباشرة عن الكيمياء الخضراء، كما أظهرت النتائج أنه لا يوجد فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين مستوى تضمين موضوعات الكيمياء الخضراء بين كتابي العلوم للصفين الأول والثاني، بينما توجد فروق دالة إحصائيا عند مستوى (0.1) بين كتابي العلوم في الصفين الأول والثالث، وكذلك بين الثاني والثالث. The study aimed to identify the level of including green chemistry topics in the content of science books for middle school students in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. To achieve this goal, the researcher made a list of green chemistry topics that should be included in the content of science books designed for middle school students. Furthermore, he used the descriptive methodology, adopting a content analysis approach. Study population and sample consisted of all science books for middle school students in the Kingdom during the academic year 1442 AH, and their number was (6) books; that is one book for each semester. Science books’ content analysis card was used as a study tool, based on the list of green chemistry topics prepared by the researcher, and its validity and stability were verified. The researcher adopted ‘the topic’ or ‘the idea’ as a unit for analysis. The results of the study demonstrated that the level of including green chemistry topics in science books designed for middle school students in the Kingdom was ‘low’. Further the results asserted that there is no main title or sub-title in these science books that is directly related to green chemistry topics. Therefore, there were no statistically significant differences between the level of including green chemistry topics between science books for the first and second grades; while there were statistically significant differences at the level (0.1) between first and third grades’ science books, as well as between second and third grades’ science books.
