هدف البحث إلى معرفة دور مجتمعات التعلم في تنمية الكفاءة المهنية لدى معلمات الكيمياء بمدينة الرياض. تكونت عينة البحث من (144) معلمة من معلمات الكيمياء. استخدمت الباحثة المنهج الوصفي، ونظرا لطبيعة البيانات المراد الحصول عليها، وللإجابة عن سؤال البحث الرئيس، وتبعا لنوع المنهج المستخدم، تم استخدام الاستبانة المعدة من قبل الباحثة، وتم التحقق من صدقها وثباتها. وأظهرت نتائج التحليل أن دور مجتمعات التعلم المهنية في تنمية الكفاءة المهنية لمعلمات الكيمياء كان بدرجة متوسطة، وجاء ترتيب العبارات في مجالات الكفاءة المهنية (التخطيط، والتنفيذ، والتقويم) بدرجات متفاوتة. وبناء على النتائج قدمت الباحثة توصيات للمعلمات، والمعنيين بتطبيق مجتمعات التعلم المهنية في المدارس، وللقائمين على تدريب المعلمات. The aim of the research is to know the role of learning communities in developing the professional competence of chemistry teachers in Riyadh. The research sample consisted of (144) chemistry teachers. The researcher used the descriptive approach, and given the nature of the data to be obtained, and to answer the main research question, and depending on the type of method used, a questionnaire developed by the researcher was used, and its validity and reliability were verified. The results of the analysis showed that the role of professional learning communities in developing the professional competence of chemistry teachers was moderate, and the order of items in the areas of professional competence (planning, implementation, and evaluation) came to varying degrees. Based on the results, the researcher made recommendations for teachers, those involved in implementing professional learning communities in schools, and those responsible for training teachers.
