هدفت الدراسة إلى التعرف على مستوى فهم معلمي العلوم في المرحلة الثانوية لطبيعة العلم وأبعاده، والتعرف على مستوى فهمهم لمجالات التنمية المستدامة (البيئية والاقتصادية) في العملية التعليمية. واعتمد الباحثان على المنهج الوصفي التحليلي، وأجريت الدراسة على عينة عشوائية من معلمي مادة العلوم في محافظة الدوادمي بمنطقة الرياض، وبلغ عدد العينة (25) معلما. وكانت أداة الدراسة هي الاستبانة. وتوصلت الدراسة إلى عدد من النتائج، من أبرزها: أنه توجد فروق دالة إحصائيا عند مستوى (0.01) فأقل بين المتوسطات الحقيقية لدرجة امتلاك معلمي العلوم في المرحلة الثانوية لأبعاد طبيعة العلم من جهة والمتوسط الافتراضي من جهة أخرى. وأن مستوى متوسطات درجات مستوى فهم معلمي العلوم في المرحلة الثانوية لطبيعة العلم وأبعاده بدرجة متوسطة. وأنه توجد فروق دالة إحصائيا عند مستوى (0.05) فأقل بين المتوسطات الحقيقية لدرجة أثر امتلاك معلمي العلوم في المرحلة الثانوية لمجالات التنمية المستدامة في العملية التعليمية. وكانت أهم التوصيات: عقد دورات متخصصة للمعلمين في طبيعة العلم وأبعادها ومجالات التنمية المستدامة. وإعادة النظر في محتوى مواد العلوم بالمرحلة الثانوية بما يتناسب مع التوجهات الحديثة في تدريس مواد العلوم في ضوء أبعاد طبيعة العلم. وإطلاع معدي ومصممي المناهج على مفاهيم ومجالات التنمية المستدامة قبل عمليات التطوير والتعديل لتلك البرامج؛ وذلك لأخذها بعين الاعتبار في أثناء عمليات الإعداد والتطوير. The study aimed to identify the level of understanding of science teachers in the secondary stage of the nature and dimensions of science. And to identify the level of understanding of science teachers at the secondary stage of the areas of sustainable development (environmental and economic) in the educational process. The researcher relied on the descriptive analytical method, and the study was conducted on a random sample of science teachers in Al-Dawadmi Governorate in the Riyadh region, and the sample number was (25). The study tool was the questionnaire. The most important results of the study were: that there are statistically significant differences at the level (0.01) and less between the real averages to the degree that science teachers in the secondary stage possess the dimensions of the nature of science on the one hand and the hypothetical average on the other hand. And that the level of the average grades of science teachers' understanding of the nature and dimensions of science in the secondary stage is moderately high. And that there are statistically significant differences at the level (0.05) and less between the real averages of the impact of science teachers' possession in the secondary stage of the areas of sustainable development in the educational process. The most important recommendations were: Holding specialized courses for teachers in the nature of science and its dimensions and areas of sustainable development. And reconsidering the content of science subjects at the secondary level in line with modern trends in teaching science subjects in light of the dimensions of the nature of science. Informing curriculum developers and designers about the concepts and areas of sustainable development before the development and modification processes for those programs, in order to take them into account during the preparation and development processes.
