هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى تحديد المتطلبات التربوية اللازمة لوحدات العمل التطوعي بالجامعات السعودية، وتعرف واقع تحقيق هذه المتطلبات من وجهة نظر الطالبات وتقديم الوسائل والآليات المقترحة لتطوير العمل التطوعي. استخدمت الدراسة المنهج الوصفي، وتم إعداد استبانة على مرحلتين: الأولى؛ إعداد قائمة بالمتطلبات التربوية اللازمة لوحدات العمل التطوعي بالجامعات السعودية وتكونت من 40 عبارة موزعة على ثلاثة محاور طبقت على عينة (ن=126) من أعضاء هيئة التدريس، والثانية؛ بناء استبانة موجهة للطالبات مكونة من 40 عبارة موزعة على محورين طبقت على عينة بلغ عددها 612 طالبة من أربع جامعات سعودية. ومن أبرز النتائج التي توصلت لها الدراسة: أن نجاح العمل التطوعي يتطلب دقة التنظيم والتخطيط وحسن الإدارة، وإدراك المتطوعين أهمية العمل التطوعي، والعمل على نشر ثقافة العمل التطوعي، وأن درجة تحقيق المتطلبات التربوية لوحدات العمل التطوعي بالجامعات السعودية كان عاليا من وجهة نظر الطالبات حيث بلغ المتوسط الحسابي العام ما نسبته 3.59. ومن الآليات المقترحة لتطوير العمل التطوعي التي رأت عينة الدراسة أهميتها بدرجة عالية؛ «وضع نقاط مكتسبة للطالب المتطوع تدرج كساعات مهارية في سيرته الذاتية»، ونشر المبادئ والقيم الإسلامية والمفاهيم الاجتماعية التي تحث على الأعمال التطوعية، واستخدام أساليب إبداعية لتشجيع الطلاب على المشاركة فيه. This study aims to identify the pedagogical requirements for voluntary work units in Saudi universities and to pinpoint the actualities of such requirements as perceived by female students. Moreover, the study proposes means and mechanisms for the development of voluntary work. The study used the descriptive method. A 40-item questionnaire was developed based on a list of the necessary pedagogical requirements for the voluntary work units in the Saudi universities, covering three domains; applied to a sample of 126 faculty members; along with another 40-item questionnaire for female students, covering two domains; applied to a sample of 612 female students from four Saudi universities. Findings imply that the success of voluntary work requires several things; accuracy in planning, organization and good management, volunteers’ awareness of the importance of voluntary work, spreading the culture of voluntary work. Achievement of the pedagogical requirements of the voluntary work units in Saudi universities is highly estimated by the female students. The overall mean value reached 3.59. Respondents proposed some mechanisms for the development of voluntary work; namely, rewarding volunteer student with grade points that is included as Life-skill credit hours in her CV. Furthermore, people in-charge should take steps to assure Islamic principles and values, and social concepts that encourage voluntary work, as well as, the use of creative methods to encourage female students to participate in such activities.
