هدفت الدراسة إلى الكشف عن بعض العوامل المفسرة للفروق في قوة الترابط بين الجد والحفيد كما يدركه الحفيد بالمرحلة الإعدادية، واستقصاء أثر دور الجد في الذكاء الوجداني والذكاء الروحي للحفيد. وقد تم إعداد المقاييس اللازمة وتطبيقها على عينة من (151) حفيدا من تلاميذ المرحلة الإعدادية، و(41) من أجدادهم المقربين. وتوصلت الدراسة إلى أن قوة الترابط بين الأحفاد من عينة الدراسة وأجدادهم كانت مرتفعة، وقد اختلفت قوة الترابط ومكوناته باختلاف نمط دور الجد لصالح النمط المتوازن يليه النمط الفردي. كما اختلفت قوة الترابط ومكوناته بوجه عام باختلاف نوع الحفيد لصالح الإناث، ولم يكن هناك أثر لكل من نوع الجد أو التفاعل بين نوع الجد ونوع الحفيد في قوة الترابط. وقد تم تفسير هذه النتائج كميا وكيفيا في ضوء نمط دور الجد وموضوعات حكايات الأجداد وأدوار الجد كما قررها الحفيد. كما كشفت الدراسة عن وجود تأثير لهذا الترابط في كل من الذكاء الوجداني والذكاء الروحي للحفيد؛ حيث وجدت ارتباطا قويا بين كل من الذكاء الوجداني والذكاء الروحي للجد وحفيده، كما بينت وجود علاقة بين كل من الذكاء الوجداني والروحي للحفيد وقوة الترابط بينه وبين الجد، ولم تختلف هذه العلاقة بوجه عام اختلافا كميا باختلاف نوع الحفيد، وإن اختلفت كيفيا في مكونات الترابط التي تفسر هذه العلاقة لدى كل من الجنسين. This study aimed at examining the grandparent role type, grandchild gender, and grandparent gender as factors of the individual differences in grandparent-grandchild bond as perceived by the grandchild, besides exploring the grandparent role in the development of his grandchild emotional and spiritual intelligences; through detecting the relationship between these intelligences of grandparent and his grandchild, and the effect of the grandparent-grandchild bond, and its inter action with the grandchild gender, on grandchild emotional and spiritual intelligences. The study developed three measures for grandparent grandchild bond, emotional intelligence, and spiritual intelligence. The study sample consisted of (151) preparatory school students grandchildren, and (41) from their closed grandparents. The Results showed: There were differences in grandparent-grandchild bond, and its components, as perceived by the grandchild, according to the grandparent role type towards apportioned type, grandchild gender towards females, but no differences according to grandparent gender or its interaction with grandchild gender. The study introduced evidences of the grandparent effect on his grandchild emotional and spiritual intelligences; there were strong correlation between these intelligences of grandparent and his grandchild, and a relationship between each of the two intelligences with the grandparent-grandchild bond with no effect of the grandchild gender on these relationships.
