أولت القيادة السياسية في مصر في الآونة الأخيرة اهتماما بالغا بضرورة تبنى خطط، واستراتيجيات جديدة لمحو الأمية، كما تعددت، وتنوعت جهود، وجهات المشاركة المجتمعية في مجال محو الأمية، وتعليم الكبار. إلا أن واقع الحال يشير إلى محدودية نسب الإنجاز، والذي لايرتقي، وحجم الدعم السياسي الرسمي، وتشابكية الجهود المدنية، والرسمية، ومن هنا حاولت الدراسة البحث حول المعوقات التي تحول دون تحقيق المشاركة المجتمعية في مجال محو الأمية وتعليم الكبار للأداء المبتغى، وبحث سبل تفعيلها في المستقبل، واعتمدت الدراسة على منهج دراسة الحالة؛ وذلك باختيار عينة عشوائية من خريجي كليات التربية - جامعة الإسكندرية؛ لتعرف آرائهم إزاء المعوقات التي تحول دون تفعيل مشاركتهم في تنفيذ مبادرات محو الأمية، وتعليم الكبار كمتطلب للتخرج، وبوصفهم أحد نماذج، أو صور المشاركة المجتمعية التابعة لوزارة التعليم العالي. The political leadership in Egypt - in recent times - has paid great attention to the need to adopt new plans and strategies to eradicate illiteracy, and the efforts and efforts of community participation in the field of illiteracy eradication and adult education have been numerous and diversified. However, the reality of the situation indicates the limited achievement rates, which do not rise, the size of official political support, and the intertwining of civil and official efforts. Hence, the study tried to research the obstacles that prevent community participation in the field of illiteracy eradication and adult education for the desired performance, and ways to activate them in the future, and the study relied on the case study method; by selecting a random sample of graduates from the faculties of education - Alexandria University; to know their views on the obstacles that prevent their participation in the implementation of literacy initiatives, adult education as a requirement for graduation, and as one of the models or images of community participation affiliated with the Ministry of Higher Education.
