تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى تعرف مدى فاعلية استخدام التمثيلات الرياضية في تدريس كل من مفاهيم النسبة والتناسب والنسبة المئوية، وفي تحسين الكفاءة الذاتية في مادة الرياضيات لدى متعلمات الصف السادس بدولة الكويت. ولتحقيق هدف الدراسة، استخدم المنهج شبه التجريبي؛ حيث قامت الباحثة بانتقاء عينة قوامها 52 متعلمة، قسمت إلى مجموعتين: مجموعة ضابطة، تتكون من 26 متعلمة تدرس بالطريقة المعتادة، ومجموعة تجريبية، تتكون من 26 متعلمة، تدرس بالتمثيلات الرياضية. وبني اختبار تحصيلي في مفاهيم النسبة والتناسب والنسبة المئوية، واستخدمت أيضا استبانة الكفاءة الذاتية في الرياضيات. توصلت الدراسة إلى أن تدريس المتعلمات في الصف السادس باستخدام التمثيلات الرياضية كان فعالا في زيادة التحصيل لديهن في هذا الجزء، كذلك كان فعالا في تحسين الكفاءة الذاتية في الرياضيات، ومن ثم قدمت الدراسة عددا من التوصيات، منها ضرورة عقد دورات وورش عمل للمعلمين لمعرفة تصميم أنشطة التمثيلات الرياضية البسيطة الحسية والتكنولوجية، وتشجيعهم على إشراك المتعلمين في تصميم التمثيلات الرياضية وبنائها. This research paper aims to identify the effectiveness of using mathematical representation in improving students' achievement in the percentage and proportionality concepts, and students' self-efficacy of sixth grade students in the State of Kuwait. To achieve the objectives of the study, the quasi-experimental approach was conducted by mathematical representation to a randomly selected sample of 52 sixth grade students in the State of Kuwait. The control group consisted of 26 students who were taught using the conventional method while the experimental group (n=26) were taught using the teaching approach based on mathematical representations. Both groups were evaluated using percentage and proportionality concepts test, and the students' Self efficacy in Mathematics Questionnaire. The study found that teaching sixth graders using the mathematical representation approach was effective in increasing their achievement, as well as improving the degree students' self-efficacy in mathematics. The study recommended satisfying the need to present courses and workshops for teachers to study mathematical representation activities, and to encourage learners to engage in construction of mathematical representations activities.
