The study aimed at decreasing behaviors selective mutism among kindergarteners through developing adaptive behavior skills via a behavior cognitive program. The following tools were administered: A diagnostic questionnaire of selective mutism among kindergarteners parents and teachers versions, Adaptive behavior Scale, A behavior cognitive program for developing some adaptive behavior skills of kindergarteners with selective mutism. the sample consisted of (22) children, the experimental group was comprised of 11 children (5 boys ,6 girls) and the controls (4 boys, 7girls). Results indicated that: statistically significant differences were found between the mean scores of the experimental group on the diagnostic questionnaire of selective mutism before and after the administration of the program in favor of post administration. statistically significant differences were found between the mean scores of the experimental group on the adaptive behavior scale before and after the administration of the program in favor of post administration. statistically significant differences were found between the mean scores of the experimental group and the controls on the diagnostic questionnaire of selective mutism after the administration of the program in favor the experimental group. statistically significant differences were found between the mean scores of the experimental group and the controls on the adaptive behavior scale after the administration of the program in favor of the experimental group. No statistically significant differences were found between the mean scores of the experimental group on the diagnostic questionnaire of selective mutism between the first administration of the program and the follow up. No statistically significant differences were found between the mean scores of the experimental group on adaptive behavior scale between the first administration of the program and the follow up.
