The interest of education in general and higher education in particular was the main reason of the advancement of many developing countries. The provision of the appropriate educational environment is the most important component of the improvement of the educational process and its goal of creating an educated generation through the construction of suitable buildings, and giving more attention on the main space, which is the classrooms. This interest stems mainly from the famous saying of Winston Churchill: (We shape our cities, and then they shape us), so the decision maker must know what to take in consideration in order to achieve the required classrooms which its efficiency is reflected on the quality of higher education outputs. Hence, the idea of this research is to study the assessment of the educational environment in the classrooms in the university buildings. This study represents the importance of identifying the requirements and the design considerations that should be provided in these classrooms, and the need to study them comprehensively, in order to develop the best perceptions and considerations for the quality of these educational spaces. So this study attempts to explore the impact of the classrooms on the quality of the educational environment? Thus, the study dealt with the Al-Quds building at the Islamic University of Gaza, and analyzed the extent of its commitment to these standards, after which the study came out with a set of conclusions and recommendations, the most important of which is that the educational building is the most important element of the educational process. It is an important factor in the success of the educational environment and the level of achievement of the students. The more the educational building is suitable and equipped in all ways and means the better the educational quality. Therefore, design considerations should be taken in account to ensure good classroom orientation, lighting, ventilation and acoustics to make the teaching environment with more quality character and more effective.
