The aim of this study is to measure the effectiveness of a computerized program in teaching reading skills among the elementary students in Jordan with reading difficulties in the resource room (case study).The study sample consisted of (7) students who were officially diagnosed as having learning difficulties in reading and enrolled in the resources room at the Idbayyan elementary school in Amman-Jordan. In order to achieve the objective of the study, the researcher used the descriptive approach. A diagnostic test was conducted for reading skills. The test consisted of several skills and the questions of comprehension of reading. The program was then applied to the study sample, a computer-based program that included several reading and reading comprehension skills, and was administered individually to each student for 7 weeks. The diagnostic test for reading skills was then re-administered to measure improvement. The study group in the reading skills as a whole in the pre-test obtained an average score of (30.43) degree and in the post-test after application of the computer program on an average of (61.29) score with an improvement rate of (102%) on the study sample for the benefit of the post-test. Which indicates that teaching using the educational software has been effective in improving reading skills and reading comprehension on the study sample. (Published Abstract)
