تهدف الدراسة تنمية الكفاءة اللغوية لطلاب المرحلة الثانوية في ضوء كلّ من مدخلي المحتوي وإسناد المهام. قام سبع طلاب مقيمين بالصف الثاني الثانوي بالمشاركة في الدراسة التي أجريت في العام الأكاديمي 2014/ 2015 حيث قاموا بالإشتراك في برنامج صممته الباحثة، يعتمد على مدخلي المحتوي وإسناد المهام وذلك بهدف تحسين كفاءتهم اللغوية. قام الطلاب بالمشاركة فردياً وبشكل تعاوني كما تم تدريبهم على إيجاد المترادفات، تقليل الوقفات أثناء التحدث باللغة الإنجليزية، وتجنب التكرار، وتخمين معاني الكلمات الجديدة، وتحليل النصوص، وأخذ الملاحظات، والعمل في ثنائيات ومجموعات، وتطبيق استخدام الأشكال التنظيمية، والتحدث بثقة. تمّ تطبيق طريقة البحوث المختلطة المتضمنة حيث تم البدء بتحليل البيانات كمياً ثم كيفياً. تم تحليل البيانات إحصائياً؛ ثمّ اختيار سبع طلاب ليكونوا محلاً لدراسة الحالة. بعد تطبيق البرنامج، تم تحليل كل ما كتبه الطلاب وصفيا،ً كما تم الاستفادة من المقابلات غير الرسمية التي تمت مع الطلاب ذوي الأداء العالي والمنخفض، كذلك تم تقييم احتياجات الطلبة المشاركين، واستبيان مدى رضائهم عن البرنامج، واستمارات تقييم الأداء الذاتي التي قاموا بتعبئتها لقياس مدى نجاح البرنامج. أظهرت نتائج الدراسة أثر استخدام البرنامج المقترح على تنمية الكفاءة اللغوية للمشاركين بصفة عامة. ثمّ نوقشت النتائج والخروج بتوصيات بإجراء المزيد من البحوث. The present study aims at developing secondary stage students’ language proficiency in the light of both CB & TB approaches. Seven 2nd year secondary stage students participated in the study, which took place in the academic year 2014/2015. They were engaged in a program designed by the researcher based on both CB & TB approaches with the focus of improving their language proficiency, in which they worked both individually and collaboratively. They were also trained to find equivalents (synonyms), reduce shifts while speaking, avoid redundancy, guess the meaning of unfamiliar words, analyze texts, take notes, work in pairs & groups, apply using graphic organizers, and speak out with confidence. Embedded mixed-method was applied as both qualitative and quantitative analyses were adopted. First, data was analyzed using convenient statistical techniques. Then, seven students were chosen for the case study to represent the whole sample. After the application of the program, the students’ reflections were chosen for descriptive analysis. Qualitative analysis made use of informal semi-structured interviews conducted with high and low performers, the participants’ needs’ assessment and satisfaction questionnaires, and the students’ self- evaluation success grid sheets as well. The study findings indicated the effect of the proposed program on developing the participants’ language proficiency as a whole. The study results were discussed.
