A1 الرباع، نذير معروف AB This study aims to investigate the impact of alternative assessment on the achievement of eighth grade students in science in governmental schools in Irbid. The study sample consisted of (102) students from Irbid governmental schools who were selected in purposive way from the group of eighth graders who were randomized to two groups, the experimental group consisted of (52) students applied on them the alternative assessment and the control group consisted of (50) students who used the traditional assessment, To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher used the achievement test and a questionnaire to measure students' attitudes towards science. The results of the study showed that there were statistically significant differences between the scores of the two groups of study and for the validity of the experimental group. The results showed that there were no statistically significant differences in the students' attitudes towards science between experimental and control groups.
