A1 منذر، محمد أحمد A2 الشرع، إبراهيم أحمد AB The aim of this study was to investigate error patterns among tenth-grade students in solving verbal problems. A test of (6) essay questions of verbal problems was developed, to a sample of (300) male and female students from public schools and its validity and reliability were verified. The study revealed various error categories, including confusion between the deducted and subtracted, mixing variables and constants, errors in applying the elimination law, and mistakes in summing algebraic boundaries. The most common types of errors were mixing up the equation and verbal formulation in real- life problems, as well as errors in substituting equation variables. Based on the results, the researcher recommends the necessity for teachers to conduct diagnostic tests and analyze students' errors to identify and address alternative concepts.
