A1 العفيشات، هبة منصور نهار AB The research explored the attitudes of basic school students in Amman towards employing the brainstorming strategy in the Arabic language course. It explored the challenges facing Arabic language teachers when employing the brainstorming strategy in the Arabic language course in the basic schools in Amman. It explored that through adopting the descriptive analytical, quantitative and qualitative approaches. The population consists from all the basic school students in Amman. The researcher designed a survey after she reviewed several studies related to the study’s topic. The survey was uploaded to Google form. The survey link was uploaded to several FB groups. 396 female and male students filled in the survey. They represent the members of the random sample in this study. Data was processed through using SPSS software. The researcher chose a purposive sample consisting of seven male and seven female Arabic language teachers who were chosen from several public basic schools in Amman. She interviewed them to identify the targeted challenges. After analyzing data, it was found that the attitudes of basic school students in Amman towards employing the brainstorming strategy in the Arabic language course are positive. It was found that this strategy expands students’ knowledge on Arabic vocabulary and grammar. In addition, this strategy improves students’ academic achievement in Arabic language course. It was found that the challenges associated with employing this strategy include: the need to dedicate too much time of the period for employing this strategy. That shall hinder teachers from covering the whole curriculum during the academic semester.
