A1 خريسات، فاطمة حمدان AB The study aimed to determine the extent to which basic-stage students in Jordanian schools for grades six through ten possessed social and emotional learning competencies. A descriptive design was used. All students in the Salt Education Directorate made up the study population, and a sample of (419) male and female students from public and private schools at the basic stage was chosen at random. Utilizing a questionnaire developed by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, the validity of the study tool was assessed. According to the relevant statistics and the study's findings, the overall levels of social and emotional learning competencies were medium, with a mean of (3.53). There were statistically significant mean differences in the competency of completing tasks by gender (male students) and age (age category more than 03 years old) at (Alpha≤1415). Additionally, the results indicated that the age (category more than 13 years old) in the emotional organization competency had statistically significant mean differences at (Alpha≤1415). The findings revealed that the educational sector variables among students in the public sector had statistically significant mean differences at (Alpha≤1415). The study recommended establishing an appropriate atmosphere for social and emotional learning in the classroom and integrating social and emotional competencies into the curriculum.
