A1 فياض، سحر عبد الكريم AB This study aimed to identify the level of teachers’ competencies and its relationship to the motivation to learn among secondary school students in the university district education directorate from their point of view. The correlational descriptive research method was used. Two instruments were used in this study, a measure of teachers' competencies, and a measure of students' motivation to learn, after their validity and reliability were verified. The results of the study showed that the level of teachers' competencies was moderate, in addition, the results showed that the level of students' motivation to learn was moderate, the results showed that there was a positive correlation with statistical significance at the level (α ≥ 0.05) between the arithmetic means of the level of teachers' competencies and the level of students' motivation. Finally, the results showed that there were no statistically significant differences between the arithmetic averages of the level of teachers' competencies according to the variable of the student's gender on the total score, and there were no statistically significant differences between the arithmetic averages of the level. Students' motivation to learn according to the student's gender variable in the overall result. The study recommended holding courses for teachers to raise the level of their competencies, and work to raise the level of students' motivation to learn.
