A1 شطناوي، محمد A2 مسعود، وائل محمد AB This study aimed to identifying the effectiveness of a training program on the development of the visual memory and visual perception among a sample of students identified as having a simple autism spectrum disorder registered at the Jubail industrial district in Saudi Arabia. The sample consists of (30) students divided in two groups (Experimental and control group) each of which has (15) students, and to achieve the objectives of the study a special tool was developed by the researchers to measure (visual perception and visual memory) and apply a Semi-experimental design approach. The results of the study indicated no significant differences between the two groups based on the visual perception. The results also revealed a statistical difference for the training program based on visual perception in favor of the experimental group. The study results indicated no statistical differences on the visual perception scale while differences were found in the training program based on visual memory in favor of the experimental group. Finally, the study results show no static differences between the post and the follow up application of visual memory scale. The researcher recommends that training courses should be organized for teachers and specialists on ways to employ the senses to develop visual memory and visual perception in order to be able to use methods in the education of children with autism spectrum disorder.
