A1 الشهابي، رحمة عبد الرحمن عبد الله AB The study aimed to reveal the effectiveness of a unit in the curriculum of literature based on e-learning in the development of written communication skills of the second grade students at the secondary schools in Qunfudah province since the semi experimental approach has been applied to a - 50 - female student sample who were in the second grade at the First Qunfudah Secondary School and they were studying the literature course in the first semester of the year 1435 AH -1436 AH. The students were spilt into groups; one is experimental while the other is invariable. Each group consisted of 25 students. The experimental group studied (the poetry unit in the Abbasid Era) using the e-learing through educational software whereas the invariable group studied using the old traditional approach used in teaching. Tools of the study consisted of a knowledge-based achievement test of written communication skills and a test performance written communication skills. All of which applied to the unit of (the poetry in the Abbasid Era ) designed in the form of educational software based on e-learning which have been confirmed as far as validity and reliability are concerned, the application of tools regarding the exploratory sample to ensure the stability before the application on the experimental and invariable groups. Immediately after the two groups were subject to the test of the cognitive skills of the written communication and their relevant tests before and after. In light of the objectives and variables of the study, the researcher submitted seven questions and to answer them, the data have been statistically processed using T test to see the significant differences and the Pearson correlation coefficient to measure the test scores and the use of the average earnings ratio for Black. The results of the study on the presence of the statistically significant differences in the level (0.05) between the mean scores of the experimental group (who studied the unit using the educational software) and the invariable one (who studied the unit in the traditional manner) in the dimensional application to test the cognitive aspect of the skills of written communication in favor of the experimental group as the results of the study indicated that there were statistically significant differences at the level (0.05) between the mean scores of the experimental group (who studied the unit using the educational software) and the invariable one (who studied the unit in the traditional way in the dimensional application to test the performance aspect of written communication skills for the benefit of the experimental group. The overall result of the study showed the effectiveness of the unit of in the curriculum of literature based on e-learning in the development of written communication skills of the second grade students at the secondary stage in Qunfudah province One of the main recommendations is the application of elearning in the teaching of the Arabic language in the secondary education. Moreover, the researcher suggests that more similar researches of the current study help find more about the effectiveness of the application of elearning in studying literature as well as other variables.
