A1 El-Maleh, Amal Abdel Fattah Abdullah Ismail AB The current study aimed at clarifying the effectiveness of using student's portfolio on developing creative writing skills and satisfaction for Al-Arish Faculty of Education undergraduate English majors. To accomplish this aim, the three following instruments have been prepared and administered by the researcher after establishing their validity and reliability: 1) The Needed Creative Writing Skills Checklist, 2) The Pre/Post Creative Writing Skills Test and, 3) The Student's Satisfaction/Dissatisfaction Questionnaire towards using portfolio throughout their creative writing course. Subjects of the study consisted of two groups of third year English majors at AlArish Faculty of Education. One group represented the control group (N=25), while the second was the experimental group (N=25). Findings of the study have revealed that: 1) There are no significant statistical differences between the control and experimental groups at the pre-administration of the creative writing skills test. 2) There is a low standard of the needed creative writing skills in general, at the pre-creative writing skills test for both groups. 3) There are significant statistical differences between the pre and post administration of the creative writing skills test of the experimental group in favor of the post administration.4) There are significant statistical differences between means of scores of the control and experimental group students in the pre/post creative writing skills test in favor of the post-administration of the experimental group. 5) There are significant statistical differences showing the experimental group students' satisfaction towards using portfolios throughout their creative writing course. 6) There is practice of various social skills throughout small-group discussions. Recommendations and suggestions for further studies and research have been presented.
