A1 قديس، شيرين مرقس مصري AB Based on self-observation & previous studies' results, it appeared that there is a shortage in developing scientific concepts among primary school students, so this study tried to recognize the effectiveness of using language skills in developing scientific concepts for primary school students, to achieve such aim; experimental approaches had been committed through next procedures: identification of the unit which will be re-formulated- analyzing the content of it to extract the scientific concepts it contains- preparing a list of the processes which form the scientific concepts of the primary school students & linking it to the concepts which in the unit identified above- preparing a test of scientific concepts in the unit of environmental balance for the fifth grade of the primary school students, re-formulating it and its teacher's guide; using some activities and assignments which rely on using main language skills (talking - listening - reading - writing) in a way developing scientific concepts- choose the study groups randomly & apply the study experiment on them, the results of the study indicated the effectiveness of using language skills in developing scientific concepts for primary school students; the differences between the performance of the study groups were statistically significant for each of scientific concepts developing process (discrimination classification - generalization) at the 0.01 level of significance & with a large size effect.
