A1 el-Zubair, Bannaga Taha AB The study aimed to reveal the reality (status quo) of the teaching practice for preparing secondary school teacher at the Faculty of Education, University of Khartoum from student/teachers’ perspective, in Khartoum state. In this study the researcher has used the descriptive approach, and the study population included 610 students of both sexes (male and female) from which the researcher has chosen a random sample of 203 students. And for the data collection a questionnaire was used. For data analysis the researcher has used SPSS statistical packages, where the arithmetic mean, tests (c), (Chi 2+) used. The researcher has concluded that: the objectives of teaching practice programme are crystal clear to students. And that teaching practice reinforces positive attitudes towards the teaching profession. And the college academic supervisor plays his role actively in the supervision and guidance as well. Moreover, the educational courses of teaching practice provide students with essential skills for the teaching profession. In light of these findings, the researcher recommended the following: the quality of teaching practice objectives has to be enhanced and connected with total quality. Apart from the need for qualifying the supervisors to play their role effectively, the educational modules need to be increased so that they can effectively meet the students’ need. Above all, the researcher also suggested that evaluative studies should be conducted for the teaching practice programmers in light of the total quality standards.
